The ancient town of Hoi An, 30 km south of Danang, lies on the banks of the Thu Bon river. Occupied by early western traders, Hoi An was one of the major trading centers ofSoutheast Asia in the 16th century.

Hoi An has a distinct Chinese atmosphere with low, tile-roofed houses and narrow streets; the original structure of some of these streets still remains almost intact. All the houses were made of rare wood, decorated with lacquered boards and panels engraved with Chinese characters. Pillars were also carved with ornamental designs.

Tourists can visit the relics of the Sa Huynh and Cham cultures. They can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the romantic Hoi An River, Cua Dai Beach, and ChamIsland.

After then, back to your home stay. The family will be your host for this evening and tell you more about the typical life in the Mekong region. Another option is to go down the kitchen for part of the cooking class if you wish. A traditional music show, called Tai Tu will be performed by the locals after dinner in a quiet Bonsai garden while hot green tea will be served by your hosts. Overnight at local house. Day 2: Caibe floating market – Saigon (Breakfast, Lunch) After breakfast, you start walking on a small trail along the river to see the daily life of the locals, and visit the village market which is just held early in the morning for the so busy farmers to buy things for the day. The market is also a place where you can interact with and take photo of the locals. Afterwards, you bid farewell to your hosts and take your morning boat trip to visit of Cai Be colourfull floating market. We will proceed by the visit of some local home factories such as rice paste making, rice pop corn, coco candies, longans drying processing, fihs sauce & soya sauce, sewing coconut-leaves for cottage proof…. The next attraction is taking a rowing boat deeper into the countryside on smaller canals and enjoy the peaceful time. Or one more option for you if you like to biking around the village on the narrow paths. Stops on the way can be made upon request for particular visits or photos making. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River still remain unknown to many people. Visit at an ancient mandarin house dating from the last century where the familly descendants will welcome you with a cup a warm green tea. Back on board the boat for a 20 minutes cruise to Phu An hamlet passing by Cai Be beautiful church. The excursion will end at Cai Be pier boat around 12.30pm, where your own private transportation vehicle will await you. 13.00: A delicious lunch will be served at an ancient house or at charming restaurant MEKONG REST STOP. 15:00 After then, return to Saigon. 17.00: Drop at your place in Saigon. The Cu Chi tunnels were built by local fighters during the Indochina conflict as a base from which the Viet Cong could operate from close to the Southern Vietnamese capital. The location proved of significant strategic importance, at the end of the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail and within striking distance of the southern Vietnam capital. Initial construction started in 1948 when the Viet Minh required somewhere to hide from French air attacks and by 1965, the tunnel complex was estimated to consist of 200km’s of tunnels. It included, hospitals, schools, meeting rooms, kitchens and sleeping quarters. Life was difficult for the inhabitants and to protect against outside intruders bobby traps were laid throughout the complex. Today the Vietnamese government have preserved approximately 75 kilometres of the tunnels as a memorial park, in some areas tunnels have been widened and low powered lights installed so that western tourists can now fit through the complex. Our local guide will take us on a fascinating trip around the Cu Chi Tunnels where we learn more about the conditions the people lived in, the hardships they faced and the amazing ingenuity employed to maintain life in the tunnels. We walk past huge bomb craters, evidence of the heavy bombing campaigns in the region during the Indochina conflict, discover hidden entrances right beneath your feet, wander past tiny little chimneys in the ground that dispersed smoke from the underground kitchens, sample some of the simple cuisine that local fighters would have survived on and have an opportunity to venture into the tunnels and explore the complex.
